I’m absolutely delighted with my Swytch Kit
I wanted to bring some positivity… I received my kit on 13th Sept and I had it fitted by the brilliant guys at Cycling UK….I watched and learned as they did it (and I must say I’m glad I didn’t try alone at home as it even took him 2+ hours). It was really heartening to hear this experienced bike technician repeatedly comment on how high quality the manufacture and design was, and how Swytch seemed to have thought of everything!
So far I have done 32 miles, mainly commuting and pottering around town and the kit is FANTASTIC!!! My main concern was that it would stop cycling being good exercise, but in fact, I put in a similar amount of effort most of the time, but it just results in me going twice as fast as I used to. Also, it has made me more keen to get on my bike because I know that the hills are no longer a nightmare (which they previously were in my part of Kent!) The transition from power to no power is extremely smooth, and the weight of the kit doesn’t affect the handling of the bike at all (except when stationary, when the handlebars are weighed by the battery).
All in all I’m absolutely delighted with my Swytch Kit, so hang in there, the wait is worth it!!!
Thank you to everyone at Swytch, you’ve done a great job
Your product is amazing
I finished fitting my kit to my pinnacle hybrid today. I had a few teething troubles as detailed elsewhere in the group, but with support from other group users I finished my set up today. Total time fitting and adjusting was probably 1 or 2 hours since delivery (not particularly skilled). So with everything checked and tightened I switched on and tested for a few minutes on my hilly street. I set of using only pas level 2 and increased it to 4 to pedal up a fairly steep hill. The motor kicked in and carried me up the hill with no problems at all. I don’t have the break kit installed, maybe someday but in the mean time stopping pedalling cuts out the motor which seems natural hen breaking. I’m going to test the kit out more over the next few days. Thanks to everyone for posting help and advice and especially to swytchbike your product is amazing.
Hey team. Just wanted to give you all a bit of kudos for the hard work that youʼre doing. I see so many petty complaints about delayed orders or delayed shipping confirmations on the forums and on Facebook. I know that you are a small team and you have thousands of orders to try to maintain and people to keep happy, and all of the negative comments after all of this time and your hard work must be frustrating for you. Especially when some of the things like shipping companies and their notification policies are out of your control. Keep up the great work, get some sleep, and enjoy a pint now and then. Iʼm sure that these loud disgruntled voices are the minority.
It is fantastic
I don’t do Facebook and as I have your e mail address I thought that I would contact you now that I have fitted the new Swytch kit to my wife’s bike. It is fantastic, the attention to detail and build quality is first rate and it has transformed her cycling experience. I am particularly impressed with the low weight when it is built into a half decent bike, compared to the e bikes I have seen to date. One small point in the excellent forty page instructions there is a reference on page 32 to a pdf file ‘Swytch LCD Manual.’ How do I access this?
All the best
All received and working fine
All received and working fine. Thanks very much. I popped out one of the magnets and put it in the hole on the sensor and itʼs much better now. The bike is brilliant. Iʼm a regular cyclist in the local club and I got this Swytch kit for my wife to get her back into cycling she had a major back operation a few years ago and canʼt put any real pressure on the pedals, such as going uphill.
I fitted the kit without too much hassle and after a few minutes getting used to it, she loves it. We cycled 15 miles on Saturday into town and back and another 18 miles on Sunday around local country lanes. I installed the hand throttle as well as the pedal senor and this works really well assisting her from a standing start without any pressure on her back. The kit was well worth waiting for. She adjusts the power when pedalling to make sure she gets a workout but without any undue stress on her back or joints.
The Swytch comes into its own going up hills, we both went up a local 400 yard 10% hill, I was on my road bike and complete done at the top while Brenda breezed up it without breaking a sweat and no pressure on knees or back. In short, itʼs been a huge success and she canʼt wait to go out on it again next weekend. We are planning a 34 mile trip along a local greenway.
If you need any of the above for a testimonial please feel free to use or if you need more details let me know. I attached a photo and video of the bike in action!
Thanks for all your help. You have been a brilliant company to deal with and the kit was well worth the wait. I wish you future success.
PS, one slight downer (nothing to do with you) is that we have just found out Electric Bikes are illegal in Northern Ireland unless they are registered like a moped (and you have to do CBT and wear a crash helmet). Our idiot politicians over here never changed the law when the rest of GB did in 1995. So that is another great thing about Swytch is that it doesnʼt look like an electric bike, the motor is very discrete and the battery just looks like a handlebar bag!
